Initially I came to Steve with a desire to lose weight . I knew I could regain my fitness as I had always loved my sporting activities having participated in many fun runs and even a marathon. But it was my weight that continued over and over again to challenge me. No sooner had I lost it, that I had regained the weight and more. At 168kgs and morbidly obese, with high risk health issues, I turned to Steve in a desperate bid for help.
Steve became more than a trainer, you could probably say he extended his job description to “Life Coach”. And I was not an easy person to train. I had massive set behaviours and personal beliefs. Slowly, bit by bit, working first on just getting me moving again (after a 12 month break) , Steve then turned his focus to my lifestyle with both my work hours and my eating habits. Along the way I also learnt to swim for the first time and now regularly swim 20 laps twice a week. As my weight reduced Steve knew I needed goals to keep me challenged and together we targeted some key events. Using a structured cross training program we achieved them all, never ever having an injury in the process.
Steve has been fundamental to my weight loss success. I have now been able to change my perceived focus that weight loss was solely from exercise, to a more healthier attitude of the importance of looking after my total self incorporating both exercise, dietary input and a balanced lifestyle. Steve is a leader in his field and example to all – he truly cares about his clients and improving health and well being .
