Rehabilitation

My training & experience has enabled me to assist people with a range of injuries both acute and chronic, helping them recover and get back into life as quickly as possible. I use a range of techniques & equipment in the rehabilitation process such as, Pilates, swiss balls and resistance training to assist in rebalancing & strengthening the body after injury.

I have been working with Dr Scott Hannan in his work as a rehab specialist since 2003.

The following letter was written by Dr Hannan in 2003

I am a Senior Rehabilitation Specialist with the St George Hospital. I also run private rooms in Montgomery Street Kogarah, where I mainly deal with musculo-skeletal injury, particularly back neck pain and also spasticity and neurological rehabilitation, including stroke and head injury.

I have worked in a multi-disciplinary team for over fifteen years as a Rehabilitation Specialist. Over the last nine months I have found Steve Lawrence’s skills, though different from a physiotherapist, probably more beneficial, particularly to people with chronic injury, whether it is musculo-skeletal or asymmetry secondary to pain or hemiplegia. His experience in both Pilates with core strengthening, his musculo -skeletal skills of being able to at least know six or seven ways of stretching the same muscle to get around some of the problems people have with chronic pain and as a educator, his skills are extremely valuable.

All my clients are pleased with him. These are patients who are making gains where previously they haven’t with conventional physiotherapy.

He comes highly recommended and I will continue to use him in the future.
